I follow a similar guideline on Flickr – the groups are often really helpful to get a feel for where your work stands. Though I can’t bear to compare myself to the digital work – poor manual techniques don’t have the same ‘oomph’.

I agree with your response to his comments – the guy must be a miracle worker, good technique aside! Good of him to pass on the details though
